Lediglich in Bayern und Baden-Württemberg findet keine Trauung und deren Beurkundung von gleichgeschlechtlichen Partnern auf dem Standesamt statt.

Die gleichgeschlechtliche Partnerschaft, auch bekannt als Homo-Ehe, Schwule Hochzeit oder Gay Wedding ist ein Fest zweier Menschen ( des gleichen Geschlechtes ) die beschlossen haben, sich ihr Leben gegenseitig zu widmen.
In NRW gingen im Jahr 2005 rund 14 000 Paare eine Lebenspartnerschaft ein.

Dänemark war 1989 das erste Land, das die gleichgeschlechtliche Partnerschaft einrichtete.
